We distill it down to a simple, powerful choice: “I choose ‘we’ over ‘me.'” This foundational idea sets the stage for understanding community responsibility and collective action – crucial skills for future leaders. Our students are empowered by this intentional line of thinking and presented with various affirmations throughout the curriculum, including

• I choose helping over hurting.
• I choose “I can’t YET,” over “I can’t.”
• I do the right thing, even if no one is watching. 
• I openly listen to the ideas of others.
